Before medical school I so badly wanted to hear that it would be a positive experience…that I wouldn’t be signing away my happiness to become a doctor.
Here to tell you that you can 100% be happy in medical school! I am going to tell you what my life is actually like, and how I am truly happy in medical school:
- I work out typically 4-5x a week. Exercise gives me joy and lowers my stress.
- I have yet to get less than 6 hours of sleep a night and most nights I get 8 hours. Sleep is def a key to happiness for me.
- I have fun. I’ve gone away on the weekends, gone to the beach, tried lots of new restaurants, and I genuinely enjoy life during school.
- I spend time with my fiancé Matt almost every day!! (Unless it’s an exam week.)
I am more than happy with my life in medical school.
I feel inspired and fulfilled on this path and I feel so fortunate to dedicate my every day to becoming a doctor.
