How I prepped for the MCAT & my big takeaways:
Because I took the MCAT 2 years after graduating I had a lot to relearn!
I studied for 8 months while also working 2 jobs and taking 3 med school prerequisites (Biochem, Orgo lab and Genetics).
The last 3 months of prep I studied full time.
I used Kaplan (not sponsored) for about half of my prep, I highly recommend their program. The most helpful part of Kaplan was their channel. Their practice exams were very challenging which made the actual MCAT feel easier.
Start taking practice tests earlier than you think. My score went up 1 point almost every practice test I took! Wish I started earlier. Overall I took 10+ practice tests and my score went up 10 points.
Do every AAMC practice question and test. I regret not finishing the AAMC practice questions.
The AAMC practice exams are SUPER accurate, I scored the exact score on my actual MCAT as I did on my last AAMC exam.
I regret not making a schedule, I recommend doing so.
