I get so many messages from you all asking if you should go to med school followed by a reason you think you can’t.
I was one of you! I almost did that to myself. I almost talked myself out of med school… I came up with some many reasons that this path would be too long, too hard, too “much.”
Here are some of the reasons you tell me: too “old,” failed a class, scared to take the MCAT, not as smart as a fellow peer, you don’t have enough time, scared you aren’t good enough.
I’m here to tell you YOU CAN. No excuses, GO after your dream, med school, or whatever dream you have, with everything you have. Don’t let yourself make decisions out of fear.
Here’s how to know if you’re making decisions out of fear. Are you trying to talk yourself into it or out of it? I find that when I’m talking myself into something it’s because I don’t really want to do it, but when I’m talking myself out of something it’s usually out of fear.
We all doubt ourselves, we can all make excuses to take an easier path in life. That thing that’s right in front of you is enticing because it’s easier, because you don’t have to work and sacrifice for it, but is it really what you want?
If you have heart and passion that is going to carry you farther in med school than any “natural ability.”
I’m cheering for you and I believe in you. 🙂
