Why you should quantify your study time

Med school information comes at you fast! We cover information that would be taught over a few months in undergrad during one hour/lecture.

One of the hardest pieces is managing your time because there is so much to learn it feels like there isn’t enough time for everything else. I started using a timer to track my study time every day (I usually just open google and use the google timer). Every time I text, check an email, or get up from my desk I pause my timer.

This has been a game changer for me because it forces me to be more aware of the number of breaks that I take and consequently I am  more disciplined.

It’s hard to ever feel like you are studying ENOUGH in med school because the amount of content is endless. By tracking my time I feel like I have accomplished more at the end of each day because my efforts are quantified.
